Love it! Can't tell you how many UFO's that I really want to finish are in the pile! That first block of yours looks like it was not one that would have been easy to begin the project. You may discover you'll want to stitch a new block using your since gained skills. MB

I have a few UFOS trying to finish a few before year end. I get to do a small quick project in between.

They are gorgeous – I have a box of “album” blocks that I “inherited” several years ago. I worked on a few of them and LOVED them, but, life got in the way and I haven't picked them up in a long time…..Maybe this is the nudge I need to find them and work on them in the evening.

I have a fantastic sewing room and one that has taken over most of my house. I have stockpiled fabric, kits, and patterns like there was no tomorrow. I intended to sew and quilt but, now I have found myself doing charity work and making Quilts of Valor. I sometimes stay so busy working on the quilts that I have little time for myself. They are good causes but, they now run my life, my retirement, and have become my job. I feel like I'm in a pickle. I feel like I need to find 'time for me' and, make quilts for 'my' loved ones.

I got several blocks at my local quilt store for this quilt. I had just finished with my second Baltimore album hilt class when these came out… life and children overtook my life and now that they are grown I am desperate to find the remaining blocks! Any ideas as to where they might still be sold?

Hi. I pulled that project out of the closet again to-day and think this might be the year to start it. Thanks for the encouragement. I just took a 'snapshot' of the finished project and I didn't have one.

My patterns say Dinah Jefferies 1997. An acquaintance from Red Deer, AB sold the patterns with all hand-dyed fabrics for the projects in them. What am I waiting for!!!!!

Ok I’m dying here! I just did a search because what did I pull out of hibernation? Yes, this exact BOM that I too purchased with full intent of doing but kids and college got in the way back then. Add a move back home where I was unable to sew at all. Finally, many years later, kids are grown & I am back to sewing once again. I thought back then I would try out different ways to applique on this quilt. How many blocks do I have done? Zero! 🤦♀️ my first block, Sanctuary, I cut all the leaves out backwards! Wonder if that’s why I set this aside back then? What was I thinking? Oh well, off to stitch & make some progress!

Let me know how you come along! I'm stuck at two blocks and two borders left to go. Had a move, caring for my mom, lol. Maybe I'll get it back out this winter. xoxo

Your blocks are so beautiful!I was doing a search for Dinah Jeffries Garden City Gateworks BOM kits. I wondered how others were quilting them. I went to my UFO box and found that I have 32 block patterns and the border pattern., Most came with batik fabrics. I have completed only 5 and have 4 in various states of progress. Clearly I got overwhelmed a long time ago! There is no way I am going to hand quilt these. I may may some mini quilts with 3 or 4 or 6 blocks. I don't know. I'm stuck! Does anyone ever have these quilted with an allover pantograph? Or would that be a shame to quilt over the appliqués after all that work? Let me know what you think!
