Happy Halloween! We won’t have any spooks making the trip down our 1200 ft. driveway tonight, so I will be in my usual place!

Practicing my voodoo–

Hacking stuff to bits…

and digging up old friends!

Last post, you saw I dug out my old Jeepers Creepers panel quilt. After a bit of quilt forensics, I figured out I purchased this in 2012. I got it on sale from Hancock’s of Paducah– 50% off! I still remember how excited I was to get it in the mail and how eager I was to make it. Then, I stuck it on a shelf for twelve years. Sound familiar?

I must have really loved it– I’m not a panel quilter. Why would I do anything to make life easier and shorten the process? I sort of remembered I even bought the matching backing fabric for it. For someone who can’t remember why they entered a room, that is significant!

Well, thank goodness I kept digging before I hit the BUY button on a backing for this project. Not only did I find three yards, but I also found a complete set of Jeepers Creepers fat quarters from Fat Quarter Shop. We can only assume I did plan to morph this project into some some sort of elaborate, overdone quilt, as I am so fond of doing!

Also, thank goodness, no further evidence in terms of sketches has been found for that idea, so I’m sticking with the original pattern only. Progress is well underway…
In spite of these shocking discoveries, I still have the glad eye on J. Wecker Frisch’s most recent Halloween collection “Pumpkin Patch”. I may jump in if any of the stores I’m stalking put it on sale tomorrow. I would be so excited to have it. I just emptied a space on my shelf where it can spend the next twelve years!

I’m looking forward to my evening’s spooky stitching and hope you are, too! If you don’t have a project, I have a 31% discount sitewide today. No coupon code and no minimum purchase are required.
Happy Haunting!
