So this is what comes of forcing myself to work on one thing at a time– my creative soul has gone on strike. It really speaks to the idea that we should accept who we are and if that is starting a million things and only finishing one or two, so be it. Now nothing is getting done!
I can’t even remember what the “ONE” thing I was supposed to be doing was. Whatever it was, it shut my sewjo down and I haven’t even wanted to walk upstairs to Quiltopia!
I think I know the cure– start something new, right? I may get Brio back out again– it was just nice to have a mindless piecing job at the ready, even if it was for just a few minutes a day. I really wanted to do the Lori Holt Vintage Christmas stitch-a-long with Fat Quarter Shop and I guess I should have! It’s four 6″ blocks a week– but I found a great 12″ block setting in the back of the book, so I may just make a block or two this week “for fun.” I don’t have to buy anything to do it, so there’s that, right?

I could make some more 6″ blocks to finish up the Vintage Farm Girl quilt that’s been lying around since 2015, but I’m not feeling tiny pieces right now. And since we’re getting more SNOW today– I think the Christmas blocks are exactly what’s on the menu! (Did you detect the note of bitterness in my voice?)
I did manage to get a last round of “bricks” on my Maine Quilt show entry– that needs to get on the longarm this week. I have a quilting plan, but I’m not sure of the quality of execution yet. I hope I don’t embarrass myself by entering the “Judged” Division.

I’m giving myself a little more practice on the longarm with these extra “Moonbeam” block pillows.

I’m doing pretty feathers in the dove and a “swirl and hook” filler in the background which has turned out to be a favorite of mine.

And I got the April edition of the Tiny Sampler done– that is as easy as digitizing gets, folks, and it’s all I had the strength for last week!

The Appalling Cross Stitch is coming along at an appalling pace– I committed to make one more column of designs and bought an extra light and dark green so the plan is to just keep on. I’m pretty close to a finish on this.

I did get quite a spring cleanup done even though spring is nowhere to be found. Here’s Mr. SFO, marveling in his dusted, well organized space.

That’s all I got for the week! Here I am– I took a picture of myself after my new haircut.

I look:
A little tired.
A little unsure.
A little older.
A little like I need to start some new projects.
🙂

Have a wonderful week.
